1. WHAT IS SIDROGA BLASEN-NIEREN-SPÜLTEE AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee is a traditional herbal medicinal product for flushing the urinary tract as supportive treatment for minor urinary tract infections and to reduce the formation of kidney stones. The medicine is a traditional medicinal product that is registered exclusively on the basis of long-term use for the area of application. If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 5 days, contact your doctor.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING SIDROGA BLASEN-NIEREN-SPÜLTEE?

Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee must not be used:

• if you are allergic to birch or birch pollen, goldenrod or other composites, orthosiphon or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
• if a reduced fluid intake is recommended. This may be the case, for example, with severe heart or kidney disease.
• in the case of water retention (oedema) as a result of impaired heart and kidney function.

Warnings and precautions

Special care should be taken when using Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee:

• if the symptoms worsen, last longer than 5 days or recur periodically.
• in the case of blood in the urine, difficult or painful bladder emptying (dysuria), cramps or fever.

In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.

Children and adolescents

The use of Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended.

Use of Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee together with other medicines

There are no systematic studies with Blasen-Nieren-Spültee on interactions. Interactions with other medicines have not been reported to date. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken or intend to take any other medicines.

Use of Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee together with food and drink

So far, no interactions with food and/or beverages have been reported when using Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee should not be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding, as there are insufficient studies on the use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

3. HOW TO USE SIDROGA BLASEN-NIEREN-SPÜLTEE?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is: Adults drink 1 cup of tea 3 to 4 times a day, each with 1 filter bag. There is insufficient data for specific dosage recommendations in the case of impaired renal/hepatic function. For drinking after preparing a tea infusion. Preparation: 1 filter bag of Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee is poured over with approx. 150 ml of boiling water and left to infuse for 15 minutes. Then squeeze the bag lightly and remove it. During the use of Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee, you should ensure that you drink plenty of additional fluids.

Duration of use

In self-medication, Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee should not be taken for longer than 14 days. Please also note the information in section 2 under "Warnings and precautions".

The user should consult a doctor or other qualified person in the healthcare profession if the symptoms of the illness persist or if side effects occur other than those mentioned in the package leaflet.

If you have used more Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee than you should

If you experience any side effects, please notify your doctor. He/she can decide on any necessary measures. Poisoning with Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee has not been reported to date.

If you forget to use Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee

Continue using the product as directed in the dosage instructions. Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten previous dose.

If you stop using Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee

No special measures are required in this case.

If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea and vomiting may occur. Furthermore, allergic reactions such as itching, rash, hives (urticaria) and allergic rhinitis may occur. The frequency of these side effects is not known.

If you experience any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this package leaflet. You can also report side effects directly to the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices, Dept. of Pharmacovigilance, Kurt-Georg-Kiesinger Allee 3, D-53175 Bonn, website: www.bfarm.de. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

5. HOW TO STORE SIDROGA BLASEN-NIEREN-SPÜLTEE?

This medicine does not require any special storage conditions. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the envelope/folding box after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

6. CONTENTS OF THE PACK AND OTHER INFORMATION

What Sidroga Blasen-Nieren-Spültee contains

The active ingredients are: cut birch leaves, cut orthosiphon leaves, cut goldenrod herb. 1 filter bag (2.0 g) contains 0.6 g cut birch leaves, 0.6 g cut orthosiphon leaves and 0.5 g cut goldenrod herb. The other ingredients are: cut bitter fennel, cut nettle leaves and cut peppermint leaves.
