For use in adults and children aged 12 and over

1. WHAT IS SIDROGA SCHACHTELHALMKRAUT AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut is a herbal remedy for urinary tract infections. Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut is used internally for drainage in case of existing or post-injury oedemas, in case of kidney gravel and for flushing the urinary tract. Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut is used externally for the supportive treatment of poorly healing wounds.

2. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING SIDROGA SCHACHTELHALMKRAUT?

Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut must not be taken,

• if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to Schachtelhalmkraut.
• if you suffer from water retention (oedemas) due to impaired heart or kidney function. In this case, a flushing therapy is not indicated.

Special care must be taken when taking Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut if the symptoms worsen, persist for more than 7 days or recur periodically. In this case, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

When taking Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut with other medicines

Interactions with other medicines have not been reported to date. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

Children

There is no evidence of any risks from the widespread use of Schachtelhalmkraut as a medicine or in food. However, there are no sufficient studies on the use of Schachtelhalmkraut in children under 12 years of age. Therefore, taking Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

There is no evidence of any risks from the widespread use of Schachtelhalmkraut as a medicine or in food. However, there are no sufficient studies on the use of Schachtelhalmkraut during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Therefore, taking Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using any medicines.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

3. HOW TO TAKE SIDROGA SCHACHTELHALMKRAUT?

Always take Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut exactly as described in this package leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Internal use

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, drink one cup of the tea infusion prepared as follows 3 times a day.

Preparation

One filter bag of Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut is poured over with boiling water (approx. 150 ml), left to infuse for about 10 to 15 minutes and the filter bag is removed. Note: When using internally, always ensure that you drink enough fluids.

External use

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, 10 g of Schachtelhalmkraut, corresponding to 5 filter bags, are used to prepare compresses with 1 litre of boiling water and applied after cooling. Do not take Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut without medical advice if the symptoms persist for more than 7 days or recur periodically. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut is too strong or too weak.

If you have taken a larger amount of Sidroga Schachtelhalmkraut than you should and you notice symptoms due to the higher dosage, please inform your doctor. He/she can decide on any necessary measures. If you have any further questions on the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

No side effects have been reported to date.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this package leaflet. 5. HOW TO STORE SIDROGA SCHACHTELHALMKRAUT?

Please keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Please do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the envelope/folding box after < Use by >. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

Storage conditions

Please store the medicine in the original packaging to protect the contents from light and moisture.

The active ingredient is: Schachtelhalmkraut 1 filter bag (each containing 2.0 g) contains 2.0 g Schachtelhalmkraut.
