1. WHAT IS LEMOCIN FOR SORE THROATS AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Lemocin for sore throats belongs to the group of oral and pharyngeal therapeutics. Lemocin for sore throats has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect on diseases of the oral and pharyngeal cavity. Area of application: for temporary supportive treatment of painful inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING LEMOCIN FOR SORE THROATS?

Lemocin for sore throats must not be used if you are allergic to tyrothricin, cetrimonium bromide, lidocaine, peppermint flavour or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.

Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Lemocin for sore throats. Lemocin for sore throats should not be used on larger, fresh wounds in the oral and pharyngeal cavity.

Children

Lemocin for sore throats should be moved around in the mouth when sucking to achieve an optimal effect. Therefore, when using in children, it should be ensured that they have already acquired the ability to suck in a controlled manner.

Use of Lemocin for sore throats together with other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or intend to use any other medicines. Interactions between Lemocin for sore throats and other medicines have not been reported to date.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Due to a lack of data in pregnant and breastfeeding women, you should only use Lemocin for sore throats during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consulting your doctor and only after they have weighed the benefits of treatment against the risks.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

Important information about certain other ingredients of this medicine

This medicine contains the sugar substitute sorbitol. Please only use Lemocin for sore throats after consulting your doctor if you are aware that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.

One lozenge corresponds to 0.1 BE.

3. HOW TO USE LEMOCIN FOR SORE THROATS?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Dosage

The recommended dose is 1 lozenge every 1 - 3 hours. A total dose of 8 lozenges per day should not be exceeded.

Type of use

For use in the oral cavity. Slowly move Lemocin for sore throats around in the mouth when sucking, do not let it dissolve in the cheek pouch.

Duration of use

In the case of severe sore throats or sore throats accompanied by high fever, headaches, nausea or vomiting, you should not use Lemocin for sore throats for more than 2 days without medical advice.

If you have used more Lemocin for sore throats than you should

Poisoning by Lemocin for sore throats has not been reported. If Lemocin for sore throats is swallowed improperly and excessively, please consult your doctor.

If you forget to use Lemocin for sore throats

Suck 1 Lemocin for sore throats lozenge immediately and then continue using it at the usual dosage at the prescribed intervals.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following frequency information is used to evaluate side effects:
Very common: more than 1 in 10 treated persons
Common: 1 to 10 in 100 treated persons
Uncommon: 1 to 10 in 1,000 treated persons
Rare: 1 to 10 in 10,000 treated persons
Very rare: less than 1 in 10,000 treated persons
Not known: frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.


Possible side effects

In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions or sensitization in the oral area may occur.

5. HOW TO STORE LEMOCIN FOR SORE THROATS?

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and blister. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. Storage conditions: Do not store above 25°C.

6. CONTENTS OF THE PACK AND OTHER INFORMATION

What Lemocin for sore throats contains

The active ingredients are: Tyrothricin, Cetrimonium bromide and Lidocaine. 1 lozenge contains Tyrothricin 4 mg (equivalent to Gramicidin 800 IU), Cetrimonium bromide 2 mg and Lidocaine 1 mg. The other ingredients are: Sorbitol; anhydrous citric acid; talc; lemon flavour; guar (Ph. Eur.); quinoline yellow (E 104); magnesium stearate; highly dispersed silicon dioxide; saccharin sodium; green varnish (E 132); peppermint flavour.

Rectangular, yellow-green speckled lozenge with lemon flavour. Original packs of 20 lozenges and 50 lozenges.
