Contramutan Tablets for use in children, adolescents and adults

1. WHAT ARE CONTRAMUTAN TABLETS AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?

Contramutan Tablets are a homeopathic medicine for colds. The indications are derived from the homeopathic medicinal images. These include: Febrile influenza infections with inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. If you do not feel better or even worse after a few days, contact your doctor.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING CONTRAMUTAN TABLETS?

Contramutan Tablets must not be used if you are allergic to Eupatorium perfoliatum (water hemp), Aconitum, Belladonna, Echinacea angustifolia, Compositae or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. For fundamental reasons, do not use in progressive systemic diseases such as:

• Tuberculosis.
• Leukemia or leukemia-like diseases (leukemias).
• inflammatory diseases of the connective tissue (collagenoses).
• Autoimmune diseases.
• multiple sclerosis.
• AIDS, HIV infection and other chronic viral diseases.
• in children under 2 years of age.

Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Contramutan Tablets. Special care should be taken when taking Contramutan Tablets if you have persistent symptoms, shortness of breath, fever that lasts for more than 3 days or rises above 39°C, or purulent or bloody sputum. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.

Children

Since there is no sufficiently documented experience, the medicine should not be used in children aged 2 - 6 years.

Taking Contramutan Tablets with other medicines

No interactions are known. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used, or plan to take/use any other medicines. General

The effect of a homeopathic medicine can be adversely affected by generally harmful factors in the lifestyle and by stimulants and luxuries. If you are taking any other medicines, ask your doctor.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Since there is no sufficiently documented experience with use during pregnancy and breast-feeding, the medicine should only be used after consulting your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

Contramutan Tablets contain lactose

Please do not take Contramutan Tablets until you have consulted your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.

3. HOW TO TAKE CONTRAMUTAN TABLETS?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. For acute conditions, the recommended dose is

Age or (body weight)	Single dose	Total daily dose
Children 6 - 12 years (approx. 20 - 43 kg)	Every half to whole hour, maximum 6 times daily 1 tablet	6 tablets
Adolescents from 13 years and adults	Every half to whole hour, maximum 12 times daily 1 tablet	12 tablets

In adolescents and adults, the dosage is reduced to 1-3 times daily 1 tablet when symptoms subside (subacute stage). In children, the frequency of use should be reduced when symptoms improve. Use beyond one week in this group of people should only be after consultation with a homeopathic doctor or naturopath. Since the active ingredients of Contramutan Tablets are particularly well absorbed by the oral mucosa, the tablets should be sucked. The duration of use depends on the therapeutic need or the duration of the illness. Due to the component Echinacea, Contramutan Tablets should not be used for more than 2 weeks without medical advice.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Contramutan Tablets is too strong or too weak.

If you have taken more Contramutan Tablets than you should

Taking larger amounts of the medicine does not pose a health risk.

If you forget to take Contramutan Tablets

Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take the previous dose. If you have forgotten to use it once, you should take it as soon as possible and then continue with the prescribed or recommended dosage.

If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Important side effects or signs to watch out for, and what to do if you are affected

If you are affected by any of the following side effects, stop taking Contramutan Tablets and see your doctor as soon as possible.

Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people)

Hypersensitivity reactions may occur. For medicines with preparations made from coneflower (Echinacea), skin rash, itching, rarely facial swelling, shortness of breath, dizziness and drop in blood pressure have been observed.

Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the listed side effects affect you severely or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.

Note

When taking a homeopathic medicine, existing symptoms may temporarily worsen (initial aggravation). In this case, you should stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.

Reporting side effects

If you experience any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this package leaflet. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information about the safety of this medicine.

5. HOW TO STORE CONTRAMUTAN TABLETS?

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the container and carton after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

Storage conditions

This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.

6. CONTENTS OF THE PACK AND OTHER INFORMATION

What Contramutan Tablets contain

The active ingredients are: In 1 tablet of 140 mg are processed: Eupatorium perfoliatum (water hemp) Ø 0.05 mg, Aconitum Ø 0.015 mg, Belladonna Ø 0.015 mg, Echinacea angustifolia Ø 50.0 mg. The other ingredients are: Lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate.

Original pack with 40 tablets and with 100 tablets. Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
