1. WHAT IS JOD TINKTUR HETTERICH AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Jod Tinktur Hetterich is a disinfectant.

Areas of application
Disinfection of the skin before injections and incisions; disinfection of wounds.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING JOD TINKTUR HETTERICH?

Jod Tinktur Hetterich must not be used

- in case of iodine hypersensitivity.
- in patients with hyperthyroidism (hyperthyroidism), caution is advised when treating larger areas of skin, as iodine is absorbed through the skin.
- in newborns (especially premature babies) and infants up to the age of one year. Special precautions are not necessary when using Jod Tinktur Hetterich.

When using Jod Tinktur Hetterich with other medicines

Jod Tinktur Hetterich must not be used together with medicines containing mercury.

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using any medicines.

Driving and using machines
No special precautions are necessary.

3. HOW TO USE JOD TINKTUR HETTERICH?

Always take Jod Tinktur Hetterich exactly as described in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is

Jod Tinktur Hetterich is applied to the skin area to be disinfected.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, Jod Tinktur Hetterich can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following categories are used as a basis for the frequency of side effects:
Very common:	more than 1 in 10 treated
Common:	1 to 10 in 100 treated
Uncommon:	1 to 10 in 1,000 treated
Rare:	1 to 10 in 10,000 treated
Very rare:	less than 1 in 10,000 treated
Not known:	frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.

Skin reactions may occur in the presence of iodine hypersensitivity. In rare cases, fever develops.
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects listed here affect you significantly or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.

5. HOW TO STORE JOD TINKTUR HETTERICH?

Keep out of reach of children.

Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label/carton after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

No special storage conditions are required for this medicine.

Potassium iodide 2.5 g

Ethanol 90% (VA/), purified water.
