Ear and forehead thermometer

With the Livsane ear and forehead thermometer, you can keep an eye on the health of your loved ones. Whether on the forehead or in the ear canal - thanks to the measurement using infrared technology, you can easily check the temperature even in small patients. This makes taking a fever more pleasant than ever! The measuring tip is magnetic and removable.

Application

Temperature measurement in the ear canal

  1. Remove the magnetic measuring tip.
  2. Carefully insert the measuring probe into the ear canal - make sure that it does not feel uncomfortable.
  3. Then press the measuring button on the thermometer. When you hear a beep, the measurement is complete. Then carefully remove the thermometer. You can easily read the measurement result on the display.

Temperature measurement on the forehead

  1. Place the magnetic measuring tip on the thermometer.
  2. Place the measuring probe on the middle of the forehead and touch the forehead lightly: This will give you a more accurate measurement result.
  3. Then press the measuring button on the thermometer. When you hear a beep, the measurement is complete. You can easily read the measurement result on the display.

Fever display

Apart from the digital display, you can also use the beep to determine the range of the measured temperature. This helps you to better assess the result.

  • Long beep: The measured temperature is between 32.0 and 37.4°C. This means that the temperature is not elevated.
  • Beep with pause ("beep beep"... "beep beep"): The measured temperature is between 37.5 and 38.5°C. This means that the temperature is slightly elevated.
  • Fast beeps with short pauses ("beep beep beep beep"): The measured temperature is between 38.6 and 42.9°C. This means that the temperature is significantly higher than normal. It is best to see a doctor.

Storage

Do not store below -25°C and not above 55°C. Pay attention to the humidity: it should not exceed 95%. If the thermometer is not in use for a longer period of time, please remove the batteries.

What restrictions can occur?
When measuring in the ear:
  • Certain situations can falsify the measurement - for example, if you have been lying on your ear for a long time, have been swimming or bathing, or if your ears have been covered or exposed to excessive heat or cold. Then it is best to wait about 20 minutes before taking your temperature.
  • Earwax can also affect the measurement: Therefore, clean your ear before you start measuring.
When measuring on the forehead:
  • Here, too, the measurement can be falsified if, for example, you have recently been physically active, have been sweating heavily on your forehead or if your skin is irritated. Vasoconstrictive (vasoconstricting) medications can also distort the result.
  • If you hold the thermometer in your hand for too long before measuring, the device will heat up. This can also lead to an incorrect measurement.
Further information:
  • The body temperature measured in the ear may differ from measurements in the mouth, rectum or armpit. Therefore, it makes little sense to compare these values. You should therefore use the results of the ear and forehead thermometer as an indication and only measure rectally with a digital stick thermometer in addition if the temperature is higher.
  • Measure the temperature regularly: This will tell you the normal average temperature of the person in question. If there is a suspicion of a high temperature, you can use these values as a basis for comparison.
  • Caution: In the morning the body temperature is lower - it rises slightly towards the evening. Physical activities increase the body temperature.
