ODM 5 Hyperosmotic eye drops without preservatives

Dosage form

10 ml multi-dose bottle without preservatives.

Composition

5% sodium chloride, 0.15% hyaluronic acid. Other ingredients: Purified water, tri-sodium citrate dihydrate, citric acid monohydrate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. ODM 5 contains hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the eye, which contributes to the protection of the cornea through its lubricating properties.

What is ODM 5 used for?
ODM 5 is recommended to reduce corneal oedema: oedema caused by corneal dystrophies, post-traumatic oedema or post-operative oedema. Corneal oedema is characterised by an excess of fluid in the cornea. The hypertonic solution ODM 5 draws this excess fluid out of the cornea by an osmotic effect, so that it is temporarily rehydrated normally. ODM 5 thus contributes to an improvement in your vision quality.

How is ODM 5 used?

• Wash your hands thoroughly before starting the application.
• Depending on your doctor's recommendation, drop 1 to 2 drops into the lower conjunctival sac 4 times a day, by looking upwards and pulling the lower eyelid down slightly.
• Then keep the eye closed for 1 to 2 minutes.
• Avoid contact between the tip of the bottle and the eye or eyelids.
• Does not need to be rinsed out after use.
• For use on the eye.

1. When using for the first time, check that the safety ring is intact, then remove it.
2. Remove the protective cap by pulling it upwards.
3. Drop 1 to 2 drops into the eye.
4. Replace the protective cap on the bottle after each use and make sure that the dropper tip is dry. Shake off any remaining drops with a quick flick of the hand.

Warnings and precautions:

• Do not swallow.
• Do not use if the bottle is damaged (risk of contamination).
• Do not use after the expiry date stated on the bottle.
• Use within 3 months of opening (risk of contamination and loss of product effectiveness).
• Store at room temperature (between + 2 and + 25°C).
• Close the bottle carefully after each use and make sure that the dropper tip is dry (risk of contamination).
• Make sure that the dropper tip of the bottle does not come into contact with the eyes (risk of bacterial contamination).
• Do not touch or dry the dropper tip with your fingers or an unsterile cloth (risk of bacterial contamination).
• If your ophthalmologist has prescribed other eye drops, there must be a minimum interval of 15 minutes between the application of the two products.
• Keep out of the reach and sight of young children.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
• Contact lens wearers (ODM 5 is not compatible with contact lenses)

Side effects:

• In some cases, temporary discomfort such as a slight burning or stinging sensation may occur when instilling the drops, as well as temporarily blurred vision.
• In the event of persistent side effects or side effects that are not described in this package leaflet, stop using the product and consult your doctor.
