Sidroga Throat and Pharynx Soothing Tea is a herbal medicine. Sidroga Throat and Pharynx Soothing Tea is used to relieve irritation in the case of inflammation of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract and associated dry cough. If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 7 days, contact your doctor.
2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING SIDROGA THROAT AND PHARYNX SOOTHING TEA?
Sidroga Throat and Pharynx Soothing Tea must not be used:
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to marshmallow leaves, marshmallow root, liquorice root, anise or other umbellifers such as caraway, celery, coriander, dill or fennel as well as anethole.
- in the case of liver diseases caused by bile congestion, liver cirrhosis, high blood pressure, reduced potassium levels in the blood, severe renal impairment.
- if you are pregnant.
Warnings and precautions
Special care should be taken when using Sidroga Throat and Pharynx Soothing Tea:- in the case of fever, shortness of breath, purulent or bloody sputum, as well as in the case of symptoms that last longer than one week or unclear symptoms. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.
- if you are taking Sidroga Throat and Pharynx Soothing Tea, you should refrain from consuming liquorice root-containing products (e.g. liquorice) at the same time.
- if you have high blood pressure, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease or low serum potassium levels in your blood, as you are more sensitive to liquorice root-related side effects. You should consult a doctor.
Children

The following interactions are possible: Potassium losses caused by other medicines, e.g. thiazide and loop diuretics, can be increased. Potassium loss increases the sensitivity to digitalis glycosides. Note: The absorption of other medicines taken at the same time may be delayed. Liquorice root can lower the effect of blood pressure-lowering medicines. Medicines containing liquorice root (and foods, e.g. liquorice) should not be taken together with certain medicines that increase urinary excretion (e.g. thiazides), medicines that strengthen the heart muscle (cardiac glycosides), cortisone and cortisone-like substances, stimulant laxatives or other medicines that lead to electrolyte changes. The recommended dose is: Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and adolescents aged 12 and over should drink one cup of the freshly prepared tea infusion 3 times a day.
Method of administration
For drinking after preparing a tea infusion.Preparation
2 filter bags of Sidroga Throat and Pharynx Soothing Tea are poured over with boiling water (approx. 150 ml), covered and left to infuse for about 10 to 15 minutes, and the filter bags are removed.Duration of use

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. With prolonged use and higher dosage, mineralocorticoid effects in the form of sodium and water retention, potassium loss with high blood pressure, tissue water accumulation, reduction of potassium levels in the blood with muscle weakness and, in rare cases, reddening of the urine due to the addition of myoglobin may occur. Occasionally, allergic reactions of the skin, respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract may occur.
