Intended use

Nasal spray for decongesting and cleansing the nasal mucosa from viruses and bacteria in case of rhinitis (cold), as well as acute and chronic sinusitis (inflammation of the paranasal sinuses). With tannin-containing green tea and plant extracts.

What does Ems Sinusitis Spray forte contain and how does it work?
Ems Sinusitis Spray forte is an osmotically active, hypertonic solution for nasal use, enriched with tannin-containing extracts of the green tea plant Camellia sinensis as well as other plant extracts.

Ems Sinusitis Spray forte:

• forms a long-lasting protective film on the nasal mucosa, thus ensuring sustained moistening and supporting the mucous membranes as a physical barrier in the defence against viruses and bacteria.
• has an active decongestant effect, clears the ostia (opening between the nose and paranasal sinus) and promotes the drainage of secretions from the paranasal sinuses.
• liquefies viscous secretions, supports the physiological cleansing mechanisms and thus physically eliminates viruses and bacteria.

The nose is noticeably cleared, pressure and pain in the paranasal sinuses are reduced.

Composition

Glycerol (37.37%), water, extracts of Camellia sinensis (green tea), Vaccinium Myrtillus (blueberry), Vaccinium Macrocarpon (cranberry) and Sambucus Nigra (black elderberry). Free from preservatives, components of animal origin and propellant.

When should Ems Sinusitis Spray forte not be used?
You should not use Ems Sinusitis Spray forte if you are known to be hypersensitive to the ingredients.

What should be considered during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Risks associated with use during pregnancy and breastfeeding are not known to date.

Which medicines are affected in their effect by Ems Sinusitis Spray forte?
An influence on medicines is not known when used as intended, however, Ems Sinusitis Spray forte should not be used directly with other agents to be used in the nasal and pharyngeal cavity. A sufficient time interval must be observed.

Note on medicines with homeopathic indication

Ems Sinusitis Spray forte is free from essential oils and can be used safely in the context of homeopathic treatments.

How should Ems Sinusitis Spray forte be used?
Ems Sinusitis Spray forte is a nasal spray for adults and children aged 12 and over. Use in children under 12 years of age is not recommended. The recommended dose is: 2 - 3 times a day up to 3 sprays in each nostril (more often if necessary).

Instructions for use

1. Before use, blow your nose gently but thoroughly.
2. Shake the nasal spray bottle and remove the protective cap.
3. Prepare the spray pump before first use by performing one or two sprays.
4. Insert the nasal applicator vertically into one nostril and close the other nostril with a finger. Give 2 - 3 sprays into each nostril while inhaling gently.
5. Repeat the application 2 - 3 times a day (more often if necessary) until complete recovery.

For hygienic reasons, please clean the nasal applicator with hot water after each use. Replace the protective cap after drying.

How long should you use Ems Sinusitis Spray forte?
There is no risk of dependence or habituation. If the symptoms do not improve within 7 days despite the use of Ems Sinusitis Spray forte, we recommend consulting a doctor.

What side effects can Ems Sinusitis Spray forte have?
Due to its mode of action, sensitive individuals may experience a burning/tingling sensation in the nose during the first few minutes of action. This effect is harmless and only lasts for a short time. However, if the tingling persists or is too intense, discontinue use of the product and consult your doctor or pharmacist. After using Ems Sinusitis Spray forte, the nose usually starts to run heavily after about 10 - 15 minutes. This effect is desired and is due to the osmotic activity of the Ems Sinusitis Spray forte solution. There is no health risk if swallowed.

15 ml nasal spray.

Please note

Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the product if the bottle is damaged or the expiry date has been exceeded. The product has a shelf life of 30 days after opening. After use, store the nasal spray with the cap closed in its packaging at room temperature. Do not refrigerate.
