Traditional herbal medicinal product

Indications

Traditionally used externally to support digestive function and to improve well-being in the case of flatulence. The medicinal product is a traditional medicinal product that is registered exclusively for the area of application due to many years of use.

Contraindications

When should you not use Windsalbe?
Hypersensitivity (allergy) to caraway or caraway oil or to any other ingredient of the medicinal product.

Precautions for use

The user should consult a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional if symptoms persist or if side effects other than those mentioned in the package leaflet occur. If the symptoms recur or new unclear symptoms occur, a doctor should be consulted. Avoid contact of Windsalbe with mucous membranes, open wounds or diseased skin.

What should you be aware of in children?
In children, a doctor should be consulted at the latest after 2 days if the symptoms persist in order to rule out organic causes. In particular, a doctor should be consulted immediately in infants and toddlers if the abdomen is hard or remains hard, if vomiting occurs and/or if blood or mucus is discovered in the diaper.

What should you be aware of during pregnancy?
The use of the medicinal product is not recommended during pregnancy due to insufficient studies.

Interactions with other medicinal products

No interactions with other medicinal products have been reported to date in the specified dosage range. No studies on interactions with Windsalbe have been conducted. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional if you are taking or using other medicinal products or have recently taken or used other medicinal products, even if they are non-prescription medicinal products.

Dosage and method of administration

In children under 1 year of age, a strip of ointment about 1 cm long is massaged around the navel. Perform this soothing massage regularly after bathing and in the evening. In children up to 6 years of age, a strip of ointment about 2 cm long is used, and in children aged 6 years and over and adults, a strip of ointment about 3 cm long is used.

Duration of use

In principle, the duration of use should be limited to 2 weeks, as a doctor should be consulted if the symptoms persist. Please also note the information under Precautions.

Side effects

Like all medicinal products, Windsalbe can have side effects, although not everybody gets them. Hypersensitivity reactions of the skin such as rash, itching and swelling may occur. The frequency cannot be estimated from the available data. Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any side effects that are not mentioned in this package leaflet.

What countermeasures should be taken in the event of side effects?
If you observe hypersensitivity reactions of the skin, inform your doctor so that he/she can decide on the severity and any necessary measures. Windsalbe must not be used again after hypersensitivity reactions have occurred.

Storage instructions

Do not use this medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the container and the outer packaging. Do not store above 25°C. Windsalbe in the tube can be stored for at least 3 months after opening. Windsalbe in sachets must be used up within 1 day after opening.

Composition

10 g (11.5 ml) contain as active ingredient: Caraway oil 0.2 g. Other ingredient: White petrolatum.
