What does isla med akut Citrus-Honey contain?
The lozenges contain aqueous extract of Icelandic moss (0.4 - 0.8 : 1), carbomer, xanthan gum, sodium hyaluronate. Other ingredients: gum arabic, sorbitol, maltitol, anhydrous citric acid, acesulfame K, lemon oil, orange oil, flavouring, colouring plant extract (apple/safflower/lemon), medium-chain triglycerides, purified water. 1 lozenge contains the sugar substitutes sorbitol (0.11 g) and maltitol (0.92 g) = 0.09 BE.

When is isla med akut Citrus-Honey used?

• For relief of typical cold or throat ailments such as coughing and hoarseness.
• For dry mucous membranes and vocal cord irritation.

These ailments can be caused by unproductive dry coughs such as an irritated and dry oral mucosa. The lozenges with the hydrogel complex with hyaluronic acid and vegetable Icelandic moss effectively protect the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

Mode of action

The hydrogel complex of carbomer and xanthan gum with hyaluronic acid is incorporated into the lozenges with the soothing citrus-honey flavour. Due to the water-binding capacity of the polysaccharide xanthan gum and the special swelling capacity of the gelling agent carbomer, a protective film forms over the irritated mucous membranes. The contained hyaluronic acid has the special physical property of developing a moisture film on the surface of the mucous membranes. The dry residue from the special extract of Icelandic moss, the resistant lichen from the harsh climate of the far north, consists of over 80% mucilage. The extract dissolves like a balm when sucked and spreads soothingly in the mouth, throat and pharynx. This stimulates the flow of saliva, irritated mucous membranes can regenerate and the typical cold or throat ailments such as coughing and hoarseness as well as dry mucous membranes and resulting sore throats and difficulty swallowing are relieved.

When should isla med akut Citrus-Honey not be used?
isla med akut Citrus-Honey must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients contained.

When should caution be exercised when using isla med akut Citrus-Honey?
Please only take isla med akut Citrus-Honey after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.

Can isla med akut Citrus-Honey be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
There is no evidence to suggest that it should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How do you use isla med akut Citrus-Honey?
Depending on your needs, adults and children aged 6 and over can suck up to 6 lozenges daily. The lozenges are sucked slowly until they have completely dissolved. 1 lozenge contains 1.03 g of sugar substitutes = 0.09 B.

How long can you use isla med akut Citrus-Honey?
isla med akut Citrus-Honey can also be used over a longer period of time or for interval therapy. If your symptoms worsen (e.g. fever, aching limbs) or do not improve within 3 days, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.

What are the possible side effects of isla med akut Citrus-Honey?
isla med akut Citrus-Honey can have a laxative effect and/or cause stomach upset if used excessively. In isolated cases, hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

What else should be considered?
The expiry date is printed on the folding box and the blister. Do not use this pack after this date. The lozenges are dry and should not be stored above 25°C. It is advisable to store the lozenges in the outer carton to protect the contents from light. Keep out of reach of children!

Note

Due to the manufacturing process, the lozenges may contain air pockets. In isolated cases, traces may adhere to the film. This and minor deviations in colour, taste and consistency, which are due to natural ingredients, have no influence on the quality of the product.
