1. WHAT IS SIDROGA SLEEP AND NERVE TEA AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea is a traditional herbal medicinal product to promote sleep and to improve well-being in case of nervous strain. Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea is a traditional medicinal product that is registered exclusively on the basis of many years of use for the area of application. If you do not feel better or even worse after 14 days, contact your doctor.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING SIDROGA SLEEP AND NERVE TEA?

Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea must not be used if you are allergic to valerian root, lemon balm leaves, passion flower herb, peppermint leaves, umbellifers (anise, caraway, celery, coriander and dill), anethole, menthol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. Furthermore, Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea must not be used in case of bile duct constriction, bile duct inflammation, liver diseases, gallstones and other bile function disorders that require medical monitoring and advice.

Warnings and precautions

If you are taking medicines containing liquorice root, you should refrain from consuming foods containing liquorice root (e.g. liquorice) at the same time, as side effects such as lowering of serum potassium levels in the blood, high blood pressure, heart rhythm disturbances may occur.

Special care should be taken when using Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (reflux of gastric juice into the oesophagus). These should avoid preparations with peppermint leaves, as heartburn may increase. In case of persistent symptoms of illness or if side effects other than those mentioned in the package leaflet occur, the user should consult a doctor or other person qualified in a medical profession.

Children and adolescents

Since there are no sufficient studies, the use of Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea in children under 12 years of age cannot be recommended.

Use of Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea together with other medicines

When used together with other, even synthetic, sleeping or sedative agents, a mutual potentiation of effects is possible. This combination requires medical diagnosis and supervision. The effect of valerian can be enhanced by the simultaneous consumption of large amounts of alcohol. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or intend to take any other medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. Since there is insufficient data, use during pregnancy and breast-feeding cannot be recommended.

Driving and using machines

Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea can alter reactions, so that the ability to actively participate in road traffic and to operate machines may be impaired. Affected patients should not drive or operate machinery.

3. HOW TO USE SIDROGA SLEEP AND NERVE TEA?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is: Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over drink 1 cup of tea 2 to 3 times a day and before going to bed. There is insufficient data for specific dosage recommendations in case of impaired renal function. For drinking after preparing a tea infusion. Preparation: Pour about 150 ml of boiling water over 1 to 2 filter bags of Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea per cup and let it steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Then squeeze the bag(s) gently and remove them.

Duration of use

If the symptoms worsen or do not improve after two weeks, you should consult a doctor or other qualified person in a medical profession. Medicines containing liquorice root should generally not be taken for more than 4 weeks in total. Please also note the information in section 2. "Warnings and precautions".

No cases of overdose with sleep and nerve teas have been reported.

If you forget to use Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea

Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take the previous dose.

No special measures are necessary in this case.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. After using Sidroga Sleep and Nerve Tea, allergic reactions, nausea, gastrointestinal complaints and abdominal cramps may occur. In patients with reflux disease and heartburn, the symptoms may be aggravated. The frequency is not known.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this package leaflet. 5. HOW TO STORE SIDROGA SLEEP AND NERVE TEA?

This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the envelope/folding box after < Use by >. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
