Active ingredients
Octenidine dihydrochloride, 1-propanol (Ph.Eur.), 2-propanol (Ph.Eur.).Composition
100 g solution contains: 0.1 g octenidine dihydrochloride, 30.0 g 1-propanol (Ph.Eur.), 45.0 g 2-propanol (Ph.Eur.). Other ingredient: purified water.Indications
Skin disinfection before surgical procedures, catheterisation of blood vessels, blood and cerebrospinal fluid sampling, injections, punctures, excisions, cannulations, biopsies and for suture care. If no special hand disinfectant is available, octeniderm colourless can also be used for hygienic and surgical hand disinfection.Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients.Side effects

Before all invasive procedures
Spray the affected skin area/apply with a soaked swab, ensure complete wetting of the skin and observe the contact times. Absorb excess preparation to avoid puddling.For preoperative skin antisepsisMechanically
shorten the hair on the affected skin area. Preoperative washing (e.g. with octenisan) is recommended. To avoid smudging skin markings, use only skin marking pens with sufficient alcohol resistance (e.g. Devon Surgical Mini Marking Pen (REF 31146020)). Special notes
For external use on intact skin. Keep medicines out of reach of children. Due to the high alcohol content, the product should not be used on premature babies and newborns with immature skin (e.g. impaired skin barrier function). Flammable. Do not bring into contact with flames or switched-on electrical heating sources. Absorb excess preparation to avoid puddling. When using thermocautery or other electrical devices, ensure sufficient drying.In case of accidental eye contact with octeniderm colourless, rinse immediately with plenty of water with the eyelid open for several minutes. Avoid inhaling vapours. When used before glucose testing (e.g. haemogluco sticks), allow the preparation to dry thoroughly to avoid possible impairment of the test results. If octeniderm colourless comes into contact with products based on PVP-iodine, severe brown to violet discolouration may occur. Do not combine octeniderm colourless with coloured products.
Do not use medicines after the expiry date.
