Mushrooms originally come from France, where they were first cultivated in the mid-17th century. The brown mushrooms, also known as field mushrooms, not only differ visually from their white relatives but also in taste!

The brown mushroom has an intense flavour with a slight nutty aroma. It can be used in classic mushroom dishes such as mushroom pans, in combination with a cream sauce or finely sliced as a salad component.
TIP: The brown mushroom contains significantly less water than its white relative and takes much less time to fry and cook!
