Naratriptan AL akut contains naratriptan (as naratriptan hydrochloride), which belongs to the group of medicines known as triptans (also known as 5-HT1 receptor agonists).
Naratriptan AL akut is used to treat migraines. Migraine symptoms can be caused by a temporary widening of the blood vessels in the head. It is thought that naratriptan reduces this widening of the blood vessels. This helps to relieve the headache and other symptoms of migraine, such as a general feeling of being unwell (nausea or vomiting), as well as sensitivity to light and noise.
