Alcohol 70 Vol.-% Hetterich, solution for application to the skin for infants, children and adults

Alcohol 70 Vol.-% Hetterich is a disinfectant.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING ALCOHOL 70 VOL.-% HETTERICH?

Alcohol 70 Vol.-% Hetterich must not be used to disinfect large, open wounds.

Special care is required when using Alcohol 70 Vol.-%

Hetterich

Eye contact should be avoided, vapours can cause drowsiness and dizziness.

When using Alcohol 70 Vol.-%

Hetterich with other medicines

No interactions known. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicines.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

3. HOW SHOULD ALCOHOL 70 VOL.-% HETTERICH BE USED?

Always use Alcohol 70 Vol.-% Hetterich exactly as described in this package leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

For hygienic hand disinfection, rub the hands with the solution and keep them moist with the solution for 1 minute. Alcohol 70 Vol.-% Hetterich does not have a sporicidal effect and is therefore not suitable for storing sterile instruments and syringes.

Type of application

For application to the skin. For cold compresses, the solution should be diluted with equal parts water.

Duration of use

Notes: The time of one minute is a minimum time. Depending on additional difficulties (e.g. moist skin, skin contamination, risk of the procedure), the exposure times should be extended. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Alcohol 70 Vol.-% Hetterich is too strong or too weak. If you have any further questions about the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, Alcohol 70 Vol.-% Hetterich can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following frequency information is used to evaluate side effects:
Very common:	more than 1 in 10 treated persons
Common:	1 to 10 in 100 treated persons
Uncommon:	1 to 10 in 1,000 treated persons
Rare:	1 to 10 in 10,000 treated persons
Very rare:	less than 1 in 10,000 treated persons
Not known:	frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.

Redness and slight burning may occur when rubbing the skin with Alcohol 70 Vol.-% Hetterich.

Reporting of side effects

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this package leaflet. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information about the safety of this medicine.

5. HOW SHOULD ALCOHOL 70 VOL.-% HETTERICH BE STORED?

Keep medicines out of the reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label/carton after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

Storage conditions

Highly flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition! Keep tightly closed.

Warning

In case of spillage of the solution, measures against fire and explosion must be taken immediately. Suitable measures include, for example, absorbing the spilled liquid and diluting it with water, ventilating the room and removing sources of ignition.
