Country of origin
Description
Savory originates from the Mediterranean region, where it is still widely cultivated today. Its taste is aromatic and fresh, reminiscent of pepper, which is why it is often referred to as "pepper herb" in this country. Thanks to its peppery note, it harmonises perfectly with stews, stir-fries, hearty soups or, as its name suggests, bean dishes.

Fresh organic savory from the Bioland Hof Zielke in Vierlinden
In the small suburb of Görlsdorf, in the municipality of Vierlinden in Brandenburg, vegetables, herbs and potatoes have been grown on the Bioland Hof Zielke since 1992 in accordance with the guidelines of the Bioland Association. The farm is a classic family business, which was handed over some time ago by Karl-Georg Zielke to his son Conrad and his wife Ina, who continue to run the long-standing traditional organic farm with great heart and passion.
Over the last few years, the cultivated area has grown continuously from 2.5 ha to around 50 ha. In addition to their own potatoes, a wide variety of vegetables & herbs are grown, such as lettuce, onions, courgettes, fennel, radishes, broccoli, root vegetables and much more. Ina lovingly tends to the farm's greenhouses, where tomatoes, herbs, cucumbers and more grow. Conrad lives out his passion in arable farming and potato cultivation - an unbeatable team. The farm stands for great organic quality, ultra-freshness, family tradition and sustainability.
