The 2020 Tenuta Luce Toscana IGT is an elegant red wine from Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy. Combining Sangiovese and Merlot, this fine blend offers rich aromas of ripe black fruits, cocoa, and sweet spices alongside silky tannins. The 2019 vintage was mixed: after a cold, sunny winter, spring brought rather low temperatures and a lot of precipitation. Combined with a lack of sunshine, the flowering was delayed by about 10 days. However, summer then came at full speed and gave the grapes a normal ripening process. The lack of precipitation shortly before the harvest could be compensated by the water stored from spring, so that perfectly ripe tannins of beautiful intensity and fresh aromas could be achieved.
The icon reveals itself in 2019 in a strong ruby red. The bouquet is wonderfully floral with aromas of violets and roses, enveloped by fine raspberry and sweet spice notes. On the palate wonderfully harmonious and elegant with a smooth structure that emphasizes the ripe tannins. Dense and powerful, as you would expect from Luce. The finish is the crowning glory: very long and with a beautiful fruitiness. The 27th Luce is once again impressive and has great aging potential!
