Pan do Mar small sardines in organic olive oil

Small sardines from sustainable and controlled fishing. Preserved in extra virgin olive oil from controlled organic farming. The sardines are caught by coastal fishermen in the traditional way in the Northeast Atlantic (Spain and Portugal).

The sardines come from the catch with small boats and are fished according to the traditional method with small purse seines (fishing net). These prevent unwanted fish species from being caught. The minimum size of the sardines caught is 14-15 cm and thus guarantees that the sardines are already over a year old and have therefore already had at least one reproductive cycle.

„Pan do Mar“ (Bread of the Sea) shows an alternative on how to use marine resources not only respectfully and sustainably, but also to produce first-class products with traditional methods. The high-quality canned fish, such as the hand-caught tuna, from sustainable fishing are caught by small-scale fishermen using traditional methods and refined with ingredients from organic farming. The exceptional products are refined in the factory according to original Galician recipes, filleted by hand and filled into cans or high-quality glassware.
