The chickens grow up on farms within a radius of maximum 80 km. Most
farmers come directly from Rottal. This way, we can ensure short transport routes.
For the animals, this means less stress and short transport times, which in turn has a more positive CO2 balance.
The legislator specifies a maximum transport time of eight hours. Thanks to the establishment of long-standing agricultural structures, we deviate positively from this.
All animals are kept in a species-appropriate manner in floor housing with daylight.
Furthermore, the stocking densities are below the legal standards.
Together with the farmers, we try to raise the animals completely without antibiotic treatment.
Some farms have been antibiotic-free for years.
The feed for our chickens consists of GMO-free complete feed and an additional 30 %
wheat, which is grown by our farmers themselves and is therefore regional.
