Dried Medjool dates are one of the most popular date varieties available. They taste like honey and caramel and are sweeter, much larger and softer than many of their date relatives.
If you leave the dates at room temperature, they will slowly dry out, so you can store them in the refrigerator for a longer-lasting taste experience. You can even freeze the dates and thaw them again and repeat this, it does not harm the date. Light coatings on dried figs and dates are not mold, but crystallized sugar. However, black spots in the pulp can be mold.
