Preparation method
Ingredients overview
- 200 g Cooked Ham Slices
- 250 ml Whipping Cream 33% Fat
- 10 g Cream Stiffener Packet
- 2 tbsp Lime Juice Bottle
- 3 tbsp dried tomatoes in oil Jar
- 3 tbsp fresh chives Bunch
- 1 piece Cucumber Piece
- 160 g Horseradish Root fresh
- 1 pinch Pink Himalayan Salt ground
- 1 pinch Ground White Pepper
- 4 slices Toast Bread Package
Preparation of the Filling
Take the whipping cream out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature briefly. Mix with the cream stiffener and whip until stiff on high speed. Finely chop the dried tomatoes and chives. Carefully fold the tomatoes, chives, and lime juice into the cream. Peel the fresh horseradish, grate finely (approx. 2-3 tbsp), and also stir into the mousse. Season with pink Himalayan salt and white pepper.
Rolling and Serving
Spread each slice of ham with a thin layer of the horseradish mousse and carefully roll up. Alternatively, form the ham into a hollow roll and pipe the filling in with a piping bag. Use a vegetable peeler to peel long, thin strips from the cucumber and wrap each ham roll with them.
Let the rolls chill thoroughly in the refrigerator. Before serving, toast the bread until golden brown and arrange together with the fresh ham rolls.
Chef's tip
These ham rolls are a classic component of festive buffets and are excellent as an elegant, cold appetizer.
