Country of origin
Description
A French soft cheese made from the best cow's milk from Normandy, refined with a fine mould rind. After four weeks of ripening, it develops its spicy, mushroom-like flavour that lingers long.
It owes its name to a small commune in the Orne department. According to legend, Marie Harel created it in 1791 with the help of a priest who knew the art of Brie making.
To this day, our Camembert is traditionally hand-ladled. Awarded the Médaille d'Or in Paris in 2012, it is considered one of the best of its kind. A cheese with history – and incomparable pleasure.
Taste: Fully aromatic, mushroom-like to truffle-like

Since 1972, Tölzer Kasladen has exclusively sourced artisan-made cheeses of the highest quality, allowing them to ripen to perfection in its own maturing rooms.
All of them are high-quality, artisan-made cheeses, without chemical additives or genetic modifications, sourced from carefully selected farm and village dairies, alpine farms, and monasteries, with which Tölzer Kasladen has been collaborating, in some cases, since its founding.

Agriculture managed according to strict rules, where animals, feeding, and animal husbandry are precisely controlled, forms the basis for impeccable milk and ultimately an exquisite cheese.
Meanwhile, Tölzer Kasladen offers 200 cheese varieties from 10 European countries.
