Preparation method

Cut the Camembert into small pieces or roughly mash it with a fork. Add the soft butter and cream cheese and mix everything into a creamy, but still slightly lumpy, mass.

Season the mixture with sweet paprika, a pinch of hot paprika, ground caraway, salt, and pepper. Gradually stir in the light beer until the desired consistency is reached.

Let the Obatzda chill in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours so that the flavors can develop optimally.
Chef's tip
For a particularly authentic taste, use a very ripe Camembert. If you prefer it milder, you can slightly increase the amount of cream cheese.
