Ingredients
- 600 g ground beef
- 4 Kaiser rolls
- 4 eggs
- 120 g tomatoes
- 70 g bacon strips
- 30 g unsalted butter
- 80 g Gouda slices
- 160 g BBQ sauce
- 60 g pickled onions
- 1 pinch sweet paprika powder
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1 pinch salt
Wine Recommendation
- A robust, dry red wine pairs excellently with beef.
Preparation
- 1Cut the tomatoes into 12 slices. Cut the pickled onions into fine rings. Slice the Kaiser rolls horizontally and toast the cut sides in a dry pan over medium heat until golden brown.
- 2Fry the bacon strips in a pan over medium heat until crispy. Season with a little pepper and paprika powder. Once golden brown on both sides, set aside on a plate.
- 3Form 4 patties from the ground beef, the size of the buns, and season both sides with salt and pepper. Fry the patties in the pan with the remaining bacon fat for about 3 minutes over medium heat. Then flip, add a teaspoon of butter to each patty, and fry for another 2 minutes.
- 4Place a slice of Gouda on each meat patty and let it melt for another minute. Set the cooked meat aside.
- 5Melt the remaining butter in a pan and carefully crack the eggs. Fry the eggs until the whites are set, but the yolk remains runny.
- 6Spread each bun half with BBQ sauce. Place 3 tomato slices on each bottom half, then the meat with cheese, the pickled onions, the crispy bacon, and finally the fried egg. Cover with the top bun half.
Tip
For a particularly intense aroma, you can glaze the patties with a little BBQ sauce shortly before the end of the cooking time.
