Classic Hot Dog

First, peel the onions and finely dice them along with the pickled gherkins.

Slice the hot dog buns lengthwise (do not cut all the way through) and briefly toast them in the oven or a pan until lightly crispy.

Heat the sausages in hot (not boiling) water for approx. 5 minutes. Alternatively, they can also be grilled or fried.
