Preparation method

Prepare a large pot with a steamer insert. Steam the hot dog sausages for about 5 minutes until hot. Alternatively, the sausages can be grilled until golden brown on all sides.

Meanwhile, finely dice the onion, slice the tomatoes, and quarter the gherkins lengthwise.

Once the sausages are ready, place them in the hot dog buns. Slide the tomato slices and gherkin quarters alongside the sausage into the bun.

Chef's tip

For a particularly authentic experience, you can briefly steam the buns with the sausages or toast them on the grill.
