Ingredients for the Chicken
- 360 g chicken breast fillet without skin
- 1.5 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
- 1 pinch salt
Ingredients for the Sauce
- 3 tbsp liquid honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 50 ml chicken broth
- 1 tbsp lemon juice 100%
- 6 garlic cloves
Side Dish
- 150 g basmati rice
Preparation & Frying
- 1Cut the chicken breast into cubes of about 2 cm.
- 2Place the chicken pieces together with the cornstarch and a pinch of salt in a sealable container. Close the lid and shake vigorously until the meat is evenly coated with the starch.
- 3Heat the rapeseed oil in a pan. Fry the chicken pieces over high heat for about 6–8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Sauce & Finish
- 1While the meat is frying, prepare the sauce: Mix honey, soy sauce, chicken broth (or water), and lemon juice in a cup. Peel, press, and stir in the garlic.
- 2Reduce the heat to medium. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken in the pan and let everything simmer for 4–6 minutes until the sauce becomes nicely thick and glossy.
- 3Sprinkle the finished honey garlic chicken with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately. Fluffy basmati rice is the best accompaniment.
Tip
For an extra aromatic touch, you can also garnish the dish with toasted sesame seeds, chili flakes, or thin, crispy fried garlic slices.
