First, prepare the potatoes: Peel, cut into approx. 2 cm cubes, and place in a pot. Cover with cold water, salt, and bring to a boil. Cook until soft over medium heat for 15–20 minutes.

Meanwhile, cut the cod fillet into strips (sticks) of approx. 2 cm x 7 cm and lightly salt.
Breading & Frying

Prepare three deep plates for the breading station: Put the flour in the first plate. In the second plate, whisk the egg with 2 tbsp of milk (approx. 20 ml). Put the breadcrumbs in the third plate.
