Preparation method

1

Thoroughly wash the potatoes, peel, and cut into approx. 1.5 cm cubes (or use pre-cooked potatoes from the day before). Peel the onions, cut in half, and slice into thin strips. Wash the apples, quarter, core, and cut into bite-sized wedges. Rinse the parsley, shake dry, and finely chop.

2

Heat 1 tbsp of clarified butter in a large skillet. Add the onion strips and sauté over medium heat for about 6–8 minutes until golden brown and aromatically sweet, then remove and set aside briefly.

3

Add the remaining clarified butter (1 tbsp) to the same skillet. Crumble in the mixed minced meat and fry vigorously over high heat for about 5 minutes until well browned and flavorful. Season generously with salt, pepper, and dried marjoram.

Chef's tip

Tart apple varieties such as Boskoop or Elstar bring out the typical tart-fruity flavor of original Rhineland Heaven and Earth especially well.

It is especially quick with leftover potatoes from the day before: simply peel, dice, and fry directly along – that way, the dish is ready on the table in under 20 minutes.
