Ingredients
- 2 slices Toast bread
- 30 g unsalted butter
- 2 slices cooked ham
- 2 slices Gruyere cheese
- 1 tsp neutral vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
Preparation
- 1Preheat the oven to 200 °C (top/bottom heat).
- 2Melt the butter in a pan and toast the bread slices until golden brown on both sides. Place ham and Gruyère cheese alternately on one toasted slice. Cover with the second slice of toast.
- 3Briefly bake the sandwich in the oven until the cheese is melted.
- 4Meanwhile, heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Carefully crack an egg into it (optionally use a metal ring) and fry until the egg white is set but the yolk is still runny.
- 5Place the fried egg on top of the baked sandwich, season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.
Tip
For a perfect fried egg, it is recommended to use a metal ring (Ø 8–10 cm) and a non-stick pan.
Serve with a fresh green leaf salad with a light vinaigrette.
