- 50 ml Armagnac
- 25 ml orange liqueur (e.g. Cointreau)
- 25 ml fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp caster sugar for the rim
- 1 handful of ice cubes
Squeeze the lemon. Moisten the rim of a chilled cocktail glass (a martini glass is ideal) with a piece of lemon and then dip it into the sugar to create an even sugar rim.
Place ice cubes in a cocktail shaker. Add Armagnac, orange liqueur, and the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Shake the shaker vigorously until the mixture is well chilled. Strain the cocktail through a strainer into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lemon zest if desired.
Chef's tip
For a particularly fine aroma, use freshly squeezed lemon juice and a high-quality orange liqueur such as Cointreau.
