Preparation method
First, bring plenty of salted water to a boil in a large pot. Once the water is boiling, add the whole wheat penne and cook over medium heat for about 15–16 minutes. After cooking, drain the pasta and set aside.
Meanwhile, heat the rapeseed oil in a smaller pot over medium heat. Add the finely diced onion and sauté until translucent for 3–4 minutes. Then pour in the milk and stir in the grated Gouda and cream cheese. Season the sauce with nutmeg, salt, and pepper and let everything simmer for another 3–4 minutes until the cheese has melted. Then remove the pot from the heat.
Cut the zucchini into small cubes and finely chop the chives. Add both to the cheese sauce and stir well.

Serve with a fresh tomato or cucumber salad for an extra portion of freshness.
