Preparation method
First, bring salted water to a boil in a large pot. Once the water is boiling, add the whole wheat penne and cook al dente over medium heat for approx. 15–16 minutes. After cooking, drain the pasta.
Meanwhile, heat the rapeseed oil in a smaller pot over medium heat. Add the finely diced onions and sauté until translucent for 3–4 minutes. Then pour in the milk, add the grated Gouda, cream cheese, and nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper and simmer everything, stirring, for 3–4 minutes until a creamy sauce forms. Then turn off the heat.
Cut the zucchini into small cubes and finely chop the chives. Add both to the cheese sauce and mix well.
Chef's tip
Serve with a fresh tomato or cucumber salad for an extra portion of vitamins.
