Ingredients
- 4 pcs Hot Dog sausages
- 4 pcs Hot Dog buns
- 150 g pickled gherkins in a jar
- 170 g yellow onion
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp ketchup
Preparation
- 1First, peel the onion and finely dice it along with the pickled gherkins.
- 2Slice the hot dog buns lengthwise (do not cut all the way through) and briefly toast them in the oven or a pan until lightly crispy.
- 3Heat the sausages in hot (not boiling) water for about 5 minutes. Alternatively, they can be briefly grilled or fried.
- 4Fill the warm buns with the diced onion and gherkins. Place the hot sausages inside and garnish with mustard and ketchup as desired. Serve immediately.
Tip
For extra crispiness, you can also use fried onions as a topping.
