Tofu
  • 200g Tofu
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • 1 spring onion
  • Sesame for sprinkling
For the Sauce
  • 50g soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 30ml water

Press as much liquid as possible out of the tofu and pat it dry thoroughly with kitchen paper. Cut it into large cubes, add starch or flour, and mix everything well. Heat a large pan and, once hot, add the oil. Fry the coated tofu in it until golden brown on all sides, turning occasionally.

While the tofu is frying, prepare the sauce. Mix soy sauce, water, maple syrup, lime juice, chopped garlic, starch, and finely chopped chili.

Once the tofu is nice and crispy, remove it briefly from the pan. Add the chopped spring onion and sauté it lightly. Then return the tofu to the pan. Finally, pour in the sauce and let everything simmer for about a minute until it thickens and coats the tofu. Serve with spring onions and sesame.
