  • 1 red bell pepper (approx. 180–200 g)
  • 270 g natural cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 8–10 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch fine table salt

Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat.

Brush the bell pepper with a little olive oil, place on a baking sheet, and roast in the preheated oven for approx. 15 minutes. Immediately transfer the hot bell pepper to a bowl, cover tightly with cling film, and let steam for 30 minutes. Afterwards, carefully peel off the skin, halve the bell pepper, and remove the stem and seeds.

Finely dice the bell pepper flesh and thoroughly mix with the cream cheese, the remaining olive oil, and the other ingredients (Tabasco, salt, pepper). Let the spread chill well in the refrigerator before serving.
