Grease a loaf pan with butter and dust with a little flour. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Sift the flour and mix in the whole, unpeeled almonds. Beat the egg whites until very stiff, gradually beating in the sugar spoon by spoon until the mixture is glossy.

Carefully fold the flour-almond mixture into the egg whites with a rubber spatula. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
