Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 190 °C (top/bottom heat) and line a baking sheet with baking paper. Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle of approx. 20 cm x 30 cm. If you are using pre-rolled dough, this step is not necessary.
Peel the garlic and press it into a small bowl. Peel the onion, dice it finely, and add it to the garlic along with the herbs de Provence, finely chopped basil, ketchup, and diced tomatoes. Mix everything well and spread the mixture evenly over the puff pastry with the back of a spoon.
Now, evenly cover the dough with the Edam slices and then with the chicken breast ham. Carefully roll up the dough from the long side. Cut the roll into about 15 equally sized pinwheels with a sharp knife.
Chef's tip
For a vegetarian option, you can simply omit the ham or replace it with sun-dried tomatoes and olives.
