Preparation method

Place flour, powdered sugar, soft butter, 100 ml milk, egg yolks, raisins, and all spices (salt, thyme, star anise, nutmeg) into a bowl.

Lightly warm the remaining 100 ml milk in a small saucepan (do not boil!). Remove from heat, crumble in the fresh yeast, and let it rise briefly, covered, in a warm place until the pre-dough forms bubbles.

Add the pre-dough to the remaining ingredients and knead everything into a smooth, pliable dough. Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place for about 45-60 minutes until its volume has significantly increased.

Chef's tip

For a particularly beautiful shine, you can brush the warm wreath with some liquid apricot jam after baking.
