Ingredients

  • 500 g Greek yogurt
  • 300 g Cucumber
  • 30 g Fresh mint
  • 20 g Fresh chives
  • 16 g Lemon juice
  • 16 g Extra virgin olive oil
  • 7 g Garlic
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Ground black pepper

Preparation

  • 1
Peel and coarsely grate the cucumber. Place the grated cucumber in a sieve positioned over a bowl. Sprinkle with a little salt and let drain for about 2 hours, so the tzatziki remains nicely creamy later.
  • 2
In a bowl, stir the Greek yogurt smooth with olive oil, lemon juice, and the pressed garlic. Finely chop the fresh mint and chives and fold them into the yogurt mixture. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • 3
Finally, stir the well-drained cucumber into the yogurt mixture. Let the tzatziki chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving, so the flavors can fully develop.

Servieren Sie das Tzatziki mit warmem Pitabrot oder als Beilage zu gegrilltem Fleisch und Gemüse. Ein Spritzer extra Olivenöl vor dem Servieren rundet das Ganze optisch ab.
