Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (top/bottom heat) and prepare a non-stick donut baking pan. If necessary, lightly grease it.
Prepare the dough: In a medium bowl, mix the melted butter with 1 teaspoon lemon juice and 150 ml milk. Then add the whole spelt flour, 50 g of the brown cane sugar, baking powder, baking soda, 1 teaspoon of the ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir everything into a smooth dough.
Distribute the dough evenly in the prepared donut pan. Bake the donuts in the preheated oven at 175–180 °C for about 10–12 minutes, until golden brown.
Chef's tip
For a vegan version, you can replace the butter with melted coconut oil and cow's milk with an oat or almond drink.
