Dough
- 75 g wheat flour Type 405
- 45 g unsalted butter
- 12 g powdered sugar
- 1 pinch salt
Plum Filling
- 120 g plum jam
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp whole milk
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 piece whole star anise
Prepare the Dough
- 1Mix the sifted flour and powdered sugar with a pinch of salt. Cut the cold butter into small pieces, add it, and quickly work it into a crumbly dough. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of ice-cold water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing with a fork each time until a smooth dough forms. Work quickly so the butter doesn't get too soft – this will make the dough particularly short and crumbly later.
- 2Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Prepare the Filling
- 1Finely crush or grind the cloves and star anise in a mortar and stir into the plum jam.
Form and Bake Pie Pops
- 1Roll out the prepared dough thinly on a floured surface. Cut out circles or other shapes with a diameter of approx. 6 cm. For half of the circles, cut out a small decorative motif in the center. Place a wooden stick on each of the full circles so that the end reaches the center of the circle, and press lightly. Place just under a teaspoon of the plum filling in the center and cover with a cut-out dough circle. Press the edges firmly (e.g., by pressing a pattern with a fork) and place the pie pops on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with a little milk and sprinkle with a pinch of sugar.
- 2Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely on the baking sheet.
