Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.

Sift spelt wholemeal flour, baking cocoa, and baking powder into a small bowl and set aside. Grease a heatproof mug with some melted coconut oil and sprinkle with a little cane sugar.

Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie and then let it cool for about 5 minutes.
Chef's tip
For a particularly intense aroma, you can add a pinch of chili or cinnamon to the batter. If you need it even faster, the mug cake tastes excellent even without sprinkling the mug with sugar.
