Ingredients
- 2 tbsp refined sugar
- 1 pinch baking soda
Preparation
- 1Place the sugar in a small pan or a stainless steel ladle. Heat it over medium heat until it melts into a liquid, amber-colored caramel. Stir constantly to prevent burning.
- 2Once the sugar is completely melted, remove it from the heat. Add a pinch of baking soda and stir quickly. The mixture will begin to foam and lighten in color.
- 3Immediately pour the mixture onto baking paper or a silicone mat. Gently press it flat with the bottom of a glass or a metal plate.
- 4If desired, gently press a pattern (star, heart, etc.) into the center with a cookie cutter, without pressing all the way through.
- 5Let the Dalgona Candy set at room temperature for a few minutes.
Tip
Use a stainless steel ladle for the most authentic preparation and easier cleaning.
Clean the used utensils immediately with hot water to easily dissolve the hard caramel.
