Preparation method
Preparation of the Meat Mixture
Wash and clean the spring onions. Finely chop one spring onion and the herbs (marjoram and 3/4 of the Thai basil). In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the chopped spring onion, egg, marjoram, and chopped basil. Season the mixture generously with salt and pepper.
Forming and Filling the Burgers
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into flat patties with a diameter of about 11 cm. Cut the Camembert into 4 equal pieces (triangles). Press an indentation into the center of each meat patty, place a piece of cheese inside, and carefully close the meat around the cheese. It is very important that the cheese is completely enclosed by the meat so that it does not leak out during grilling.
Grilling
Preheat the grill to 230 - 270 degrees. Grill the burger patties for about 4 - 5 minutes on each side. On the edge of the grill, where the heat is less intense, grill the remaining whole spring onions, turning them regularly. In parallel, prepare the potatoes and rolls as desired.
Chef's tip
Make sure to press the meat firmly when forming so that no air pockets are created through which the cheese could escape.
