Ingredients
- 80 grams soft wheat semolina
- 800 milliliters whole milk
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 vanilla pod
Preparation
- 1Slit the vanilla pod lengthwise with a knife and scrape out all the vanilla seeds. Mix the cold milk with the vanilla seeds, sugar, and salt. Then, for even more vanilla flavor, add the scraped-out vanilla pod to the milk mixture and bring everything to a boil. Remove the pot from the heat and carefully sprinkle in the semolina while stirring constantly. Bring everything to a boil again briefly, remove from the hob, and let it steep covered for about 5 minutes.
- 2Meanwhile, separate the egg and beat the egg white until stiff. After the steeping time, fold the egg yolk and butter into the semolina porridge and stir. Finally, fold in the stiffly beaten egg white and serve.
Tip
As a semolina porridge topping, you can ideally use cherries, apple sauce, or a cinnamon-sugar mixture. Simply delicious!
