Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

Preparation

    Place the sugar in a pot or pan. Heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves into liquid caramel. Stir constantly to prevent burning.

    Once the sugar is completely dissolved and has turned an amber color, remove from heat. Add a pinch of baking soda and stir quickly. The mixture will start to foam and lighten in color.

    Immediately pour the mixture onto parchment paper or a silicone mat. Gently press down, for example, with a glass or metal plate.

    If desired, use a mold to press a shape (star, heart, etc.) into the center, but do not press the shape all the way through.

    Let it harden at room temperature for a few minutes.
