Preparation method

Peel the onions and cut them into fine rings. In a pan with a little olive oil, slowly caramelize them until golden brown over medium heat. Season with a pinch of salt.

Lightly score the hot dog sausages lengthwise (do not cut through) and grill or pan-fry them until crispy all around.

Slice open the hot dog buns and briefly toast them on the inside until lightly browned.

Chef's tip

For an extra authentic touch, you can lightly butter the buns before toasting.
