Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Then let them cool completely.
Place the cooled nuts in a clean kitchen towel and rub them vigorously against each other to remove the dark skins. Put the peeled nuts into a high-speed blender and grind them as finely as possible. Stop the blender occasionally and scrape the mixture down from the sides until a uniform, smooth paste forms.
Add coconut oil, baking cocoa, chicory syrup, and approx. 60 ml of water. Blend everything until the ingredients combine into a smooth, glossy spread. For less powerful blenders, take breaks occasionally to protect the appliance.
Chef's tip
For a particularly intense aroma, you can process the hazelnuts while still warm after roasting, as this will release their natural oils more quickly.
